SEDOS Workshop 2019 – Appreciative Discernment for Leadership Teams

SEDOS Workshop 2019 – Appreciative Discernment for Leadership Teams

Dear Superior General, and Councilors,

Fr. Bill Nordenbrock, CPPS, is the Moderator General of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. He has adapted the theory of Appreciative Inquiry (AI) to provide a framework for discernment in religious communities. The theory and method of Appreciative Discernment (AD) has been used extensively within his congregation and with other religious institutes. He will present a summary of the secular theory of AI and the ‘baptized’ understanding of that theory called AD. He will share examples of how religious congregations have used AD in their discernment in Chapters and pastoral planning. A workshop methodology of input, exercises and discussion will assist the leadership teams to explore concrete ways for using the methodology of AD in their ministry.

This Two-Day Workshop will take place at the Marist Brothers from 12 to 13 February 2019.

The language of the workshop is ENGLISH (without translations).

It is the idea that the whole leadership team or general council joins for this workshop in order that the whole team is aware of its value and can put it into practice together.

Save the date! We will send after the holidays more detailed information.

You can reserve already a place, please contact the Sedos secretary Leila Benassi at the email address redacsed@sedosmission.org

We can accommodate about 8 teams and have already 2 subscribed.

Priority is given to members of SEDOS.

Thanks in advance,

Fr. Peter Baekelmans

Director of SEDOS
